"WHY LEARN LOGIC?"

OBJECTIVES: To share materials and strategies to improve the teaching of logic at any academic level. To help develop research projects on the teaching of logic and to create new materials for teaching logic. To extend the didactic resources and logical knowledge of the participants. To network people interested in logic and its teaching (professors, researchers, students, etc.).

TOPICS: Reasons to justify teaching logic in the school system. Materials and strategies for teaching Logic. Analysis of the contents in current logic programs. Other related topics.

WORK MODALITIES: Presentations. Keynote Addresses. Workshops. Presentation and sale of publications and materials for teaching Logic. Exhibition of videos.

PAPER PROPOSALS: Abstracts must be received by September 20th, 2004. Proposals must include name of the author(s), academic degree, institution, electronic address, postal address, and telephone. Send abstracts to:
tdl@servidor.unam.mx. The Evaluation Committee will notify you via e-mail about acceptances by September 30th, 2004.

FINISHED PAPERS: Finished papers should be up to 10 pages long, in MSWord format, including an abstract. Use one inch margins, 1.5 line spacing, 11 pt. Times New Roman (long quotes indented, 10 pt.). Use footnotes and put references at the end. Please mention if your will need special equipment for your presentation.


DEADLINE FOR FINISHED PAPERS: October 30th, 2004. Send finished papers to: tdl@servidor.unam.mx.

LANGUAGE: Lectures will be given in Spanish; only in exceptional cases lectures in other languages will be authorized.
