Obtuvo el doctorado por la University of Michigan bajo la supervisión de Kendall Walton en 2016. En su disertación doctoral investigó algunos problemas en la intersección de la estética, ética y la imaginación. Al finalizar su licenciatura en filosofía en la University of Sheffield en 2007, pasó un año en Valencia, España enseñando inglés y después regresó a Sheffield para concluir su maestría.
