I am full time professor of Philosophy and hold a research position at Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

I work on topics in political philosophy, specifically on the meaning of laicism, the latter’s relation with liberalism, liberalism in Latin America, and the relation between politics and religion more broadly. I also work on topics in Kantian ethics and the relation between politics and religion in Kant’s practical philosophy.

I am currently working the relation between religion and politics within laicism, and on the influence of neoliberal moral discourse in contemporary understandings of laicism.

I regularly teach courses, both graduate and undergraduate, on moral and political philosophy at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
